Altered State Machine is building two new primitives for the metaverse and the blockchain space. The first primitive is a way to prove you own an artificial intelligence agent through an NFT.
This enables connectivity of agents to processes in the blockchain and crypto space. This could include,
– The Tradability of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
– The connection of an AI to the governance of a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO).
– A way to include AIs into protocols or to use AIs as Oracles.
All of these distinct possibilities are achievable when an agent is connected to the same ownership mechanics as an NFT.
The second primitive is the ability to inject a standard into an NFT and influence how an AI agent learns about a problem. For instance, in the metaverse or gaming space, you can inject your NFT with a personality that will influence how it learns and plays.
When these two primitives are combined, you get this vast universe of creative possibilities spanning gaming, DeFi, the metaverse, and digital humans, which you can now enable with intelligence and connect to the same protocol governance, community governance, and economics found in other blockchain protocols.

Q2 – The Altered State Machine project stands out as the most striking of the projects we have encountered so far. What are the features of ASM that do not exist in any other project and make it different from other metaverse and NFT projects?

If you examine the evolution of these NFT crypto assets, you’ll notice that they go through stages. Although the initial step was a JPEG avatar, this content will become much more active and dynamic. Fluf World for example, which is a dynamic multimedia NFT. That is where this content will go in the future of the metaverse; it will be fully immersive.
The issue we face today is that many of these metaverse spaces lack the vibrancy that one would expect from, say, a AAA title game or a large multiplayer game. The reason for this is that there are no non-player characters (NPCs).
This protocol enables us to introduce the concept of NPCs and intelligent actors into metaverse spaces in the same way that an avatar is introduced into those areas. Not only that, but you can use artificial intelligence to breathe life into your avatars. Now, it can perform tasks for you in the metaverse or serve as a representation of you there.

If we picture a distant future in which AI plays a much more active part in society, either through machines or through augmented humans, I would definitely want to own the private key to my AI. I’m not interested in giving that to a corporation to control.
How can I do that if I don’t own the infrastructure which controls that AI and without distributed systems?
Altered State Machine is the blueprint for how humanity evolves into an integrated metaverse space; it is through owning intelligence. Altered State Machine is an excellent blueprint for how artificial intelligence and humans can coexist in the future.
To put it simply, you can either be owned by the AI or you can own the AI.

In the Genesis Drop you can mint an AIFA All-Stars Box, which contains a full team; 4 Forms and 1 ASM Brain.
To obtain additional brains, you must purchase ASTO, the ASM protocol token, and stake it in order to mine new brains. This is referred to as Genome mining.
That is how we regulate the supply of brains in the marketplace for this type of brain specification, as it requires the ability to manage supply and demand in order to maximise the value for players who acquire these items and utilise them with their characters.
The ASM Brains can be used for multiple purposes and collections. ASTO is also used as a fee for saving new memories to your brain.
ASTO will be used for P2E mechanics in the first ASM Game called AIFA and players will be able to earn ASTO rewards for participating in the game.

Great question Play to Earn is a powerful way to incentivise new players to come into the game. We have designed it to be simple to use and to interact with for everyone. But allso ASM is designed to work with lots of games not just one , we already have some of the largest blockchain game companies like Animoca as partners in the space as well as talking to large and independent traditional game developers about integrating ASM into their games. This way ASM and ASTO can be spread not by just our own efforts but by all these different companies. ASM is a little bit like chainlink , it provides simple powerful capability to many kinds of AI that can be used in many kinds of apps.

Hi there , This is really important to the success of any protocol, ASM has a large range of ways to generate cashflow. Firstly from the sale of primary assets like the ASM brains and AIFA character NFTs, also the secondary sales commissions, as well as the protocol revenue from play to earn games, on top of that ASTO is used to train your players and to save new memories. ASTO has many streams of varied protocol revenue which can keep the DAO growing. What this means is that there is strong utility which will create strong demand for ASTO.

I read that you are still working on AIFA character design in ASM. How much of the AIFA design has been completed and what improvements have been made? What improvements have been made to Protocol V2 and yield farming?

Yes we are ! we are soo excited for the AIFA character drop, its going to be one of the most unique NFT drops ever with a very novel system for creating your own characters as well as making sure there are valuable rarity for some people to discover. In our discord we will begin to leak more details of the characters and how to get access to the most valuable ones. In terms of the game design we have allot going on but all the tokenomics have been finalised and we have an all star design and UNITY development team working on it right now, protocol V2 is about integrating the DAO control mechanics into V1 and making it easy to expand to other chains in the future.

Awesome question , our team is very much focused on the long term. AI will be a foundational part of society in the future , imagine what things will be like with Elon Musks Neural link in our heads, in that scenario we want to be sure that the AI that works alongside us is under the control of society not of some mega corporations , yes ASM is building fun play to earn games and helping to make DeFI smarter but also its helping us to have a better system too introduce digital humans to the world. Our initial focus is on P2E and metaverse use cases , this is what’s hot right now and also where ASM can make a big early impact. after that we intended to use ASM to make DeFI smarter by introducing intelligence to the DeFi space in the same protocol governance processes that we have today and then lastly we will spend time working on how to create digital twins that can help us as the world becomes a more digital space.
